POLICY of sustainable development "Zero Hunger"
The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) is actively working to address hunger prevention and sustainability issues in its academic dining halls. While the original contracts with external contractors did not include provisions for food waste monitoring, IAPM is now looking to include provisions for food waste measurement and management in future contract renewals. The Academy, in partnership with the IAPM Student Council, is developing the possibility of providing food vouchers to support low-income students.
IAPM's commitment to sustainable development extends to its catering facilities, which offer ecological food options, including vegetarian and vegan, as well as religiously sensitive options. The canteens prioritize food safety by undergoing regular inspections by the State Food and Consumer Service of Ukraine and providing ongoing training for employees.
The Academy's commitment to improving sustainable agricultural development is evident in its two-pronged approach. Teachers and researchers actively promote innovative methods of agricultural development, while students gain practical experience through laboratory work and the practical application of new technologies. IAPM also organizes excursions to food industry enterprises, facilitating the exchange of knowledge between students and industry professionals.
IAPM recognizes the need to strengthen its laboratory and technological resources to support sustainable agriculture, aligning it with the goals of its sustainable procurement policy. The policy emphasizes minimizing carbon emissions, promoting fair competition, evaluating cost-effectiveness, and giving preference to local suppliers in procurement decisions. IAPM's multifaceted efforts underscore its commitment to fighting hunger and promoting sustainable agriculture and food production.
