In 2024, the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) continued to introduce a wide range of educational modules dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These efforts focused on implementing educational components that cover the fundamentals of sustainable development, environmental culture, and social responsibility. SDG-related topics were integrated into curricula, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes, demonstrating a systematic approach to embedding SDG education within the institution.
On 23 August 2024, IAPM became the first higher education institution in Ukraine to join the Global Alliance of Networks for Sustainable Development in Higher Education and the Student Community, by signing the Agreement on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals established in 2017 by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC).
This Agreement has a dual purpose:
The results of this global collaboration are presented annually at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, showcasing the contribution of universities and colleges around the world that implement the SDGs in their teaching, research, and leadership activities.

IAPM became the first Ukrainian university to implement the TASK test system from Sulitest as an independent tool for assessing the quality of education in sustainable development. From 16 to 20 December 2024, the Academy conducted its first testing session on sustainability literacy among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Since 2023, the Sustainability Literacy Test (Sulitest) has been an internationally recognised and reliable certification system for evaluating knowledge in sustainability. It helps students and professionals understand the essential principles of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) — a framework used globally to assess an organisation’s sustainability and ethical impact.
ESG comprises three dimensions:
Based on the TASK test results, IAPM students were evaluated according to these ESG criteria. Notably, 25% of participants scored between 75 and 96.9 out of 100, with Master’s students in Psychology achieving the highest results. The Academy is proud of its students’ accomplishments and continues to support their professional growth, recognising that ESG literacy has become a vital skill in the modern global business environment.
All IAPM students now have the opportunity to take the Sulitest free of charge and to receive an internationally recognised certificate alongside their diploma, confirming their high level of competence and contemporary knowledge.
The results of Sulitest assessments will also be used for the independent evaluation of education quality and for further improvement of programmes related to sustainable development. Students from the Institutes of Psychology, International Relations, and Journalism will obtain international certificates reflecting their sustainability competence.

In 2024, IAPM organised and hosted several international scientific and practical conferences aimed at promoting knowledge on the integration of SDGs into higher education. These events brought together representatives of ministries, universities, and educational NGOs, with participation from scholars across 20 countries.
On 3 October 2024, IAPM held the International Conference on the Effectiveness of the Educational Process, Student-Centred Learning, and Quality of Research, where participants discussed topics such as the integration of SDG-related content into higher education, formation of individual learning paths, student research, academic integrity, and the improvement of master’s theses quality.

From 23 to 25 May 2024, IAPM hosted the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference “Developing Innovative Economy, Management and Education in the Context of New Social Reality”, co-organised with partner universities from Poland and Georgia. Over 200 participants shared their experiences and insights on SDG integration in higher education.

On 26 June 2024, IAPM conducted the International Conference “The Third Mission of Universities and Directions of Higher Education Transformation.” Professor Yurii Melkov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, presented a report based on his Erasmus+ visit to the University of Genoa. The discussion focused on the role of universities in community engagement, adult education, education for sustainable development, and cultural and educational activities, featuring contributions from leading Ukrainian scholars.

In May 2024, IAPM professors from the Department of Public Administration — I. Semenets-Orlova, R. Shevchuk, and O. Saliuk-Kravchenko — presented their research on SDG integration in higher education at the 5th International Conference on Sustainable Futures, indexed in the Scopus database.

Since 2022, IAPM has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ programme, which includes a component on SDG competence training. This initiative continued throughout both the spring and autumn semesters of 2024, offering students opportunities to develop sustainability-related skills through academic mobility modules.

A new Master’s course “Environmental Management and Green Economy” was also launched in 2024, focusing on environmental governance and sustainable economic growth.
Since 2009, IAPM has traditionally held Student Debates and SDG Awareness Weeks twice a year. In 2024, these events continued:

A significant achievement of 2024 was the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement between IAPM and the Regional Centre for International Debate in Toruń (Poland). The agreement was officially signed by Professor Rostyslav Shchokin, President of IAPM, and Professor Jan Wiśniewski, Director of the Centre.
Under this partnership, IAPM students of international relations who participate in Erasmus+ mobility programmes will have the opportunity to undertake internships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, subject to available quotas.
This collaboration marks another important step in IAPM’s commitment to meaningful SDG education, ensuring that every student gains relevant, globally applicable knowledge and experience for building a sustainable future.
