Student food insecurity and hunger

The Academy has an important social mission to provide not only education, but also the basic needs of its students, including food. The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management understands the importance of this issue, especially in the context of financial difficulties faced by students, and provides them with access to affordable meals and scholarship support.

The Academy implements a comprehensive institutional framework to prevent and mitigate student food insecurity and malnutrition. Sustainable and inclusive mechanisms of support are illustrated at The Student Hunger Intervention Programme of the IAPM

In Kyiv, the average cost of a set meal is about 250 UAH (approximately 5.5 EUR).

To ensure that students can receive high-quality and affordable meals, IAPM campuses have canteens where food is offered at reasonable prices. The Academy covers part of the cost of meals, allowing students to pay only 22% of the total cost of meals. For example, a lunch in the canteen can cost students about 53 UAH (1.2 EUR), making meals affordable for most. The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management also has a special discount system for employees, which can significantly reduce food costs.

The discount on meals is also part of IAPM's broader policy of supporting employees, which helps to strengthen the corporate culture and increase employee loyalty to the institution.

According to the current conditions, faculty and staff can receive a 50% discount (125 UAH (2.5 EUR)) on a set lunch in the IAPM canteen. The rest of the amount, which is half the cost of the lunch, is compensated by the Academy, which demonstrates the social support of its employees.

This approach is an example of IAPM's social responsibility, which is aimed at providing comfortable working for its teachers. This initiative helps to reduce the financial burden on the teaching staff, encouraging them to further their professional development and improve the quality of education.

The menu in the Academy's canteens includes a variety of dishes that meet the needs of both regular students and employees of the Academy, as well as those who follow a vegetarian diet. A standard lunch consists of soup, main course, side dish (rice, pasta, etc.), and salad or dessert. Meals are served on porcelain dishes, which increases the level of service.

Executive committee and quality control

To ensure the high quality of food and management of canteens, IAPM has established an Executive Commission, which is responsible for organising the service process, monitoring nutritional values and controlling compliance with standards. The Commission works closely with the Academy's administration and students to take into account the wishes and suggestions for improving the service.

Free services

IAPM also offers free products for students as part of its support. For example, on weekdays, free soup and bread are available for Academy students in the morning. This initiative is aimed at providing students with basic nutrition even in the most difficult periods.

Supporting students in difficult times

IAPM also responds to crisis situations, such as economic challenges or emergencies, by providing additional assistance to students who need it. Support programs allow students to focus on their studies without worrying about their basic needs.

In this way, IAPM makes a significant contribution to food security and support for its students through affordable meals and financial aid, which is an important part of the institution's social responsibility.
