WOMEN’S ACCESS SCHEMES AT IAPM

At the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, we firmly believe that education is the key to empowerment, and everyone who wants to succeed should have equal access to it. Recognising the importance of creating an inclusive learning environment, we have carefully developed access programmes for women aimed at female students who want to pursue higher education at our institution. These initiatives include scholarships, mentoring programmes and other activities.

SCHOLARSHIPS

An example of regular scholarships for all first-year students of engineering, humanities and natural sciences that can be useful for women

The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management offers a scholarship for first-year female students. The scholarship is awarded based on the results of a national, multi-subject entrance test. The offer is open to undergraduate, master's and postgraduate students.

IAPM holds annual entrance exams at all branches for admission to all educational programmes offered at IAPM.

Female students are granted a tuition fee exemption in the amount of 100% to 50%, depending on their ranking at the time of the admission campaign.

In total, more than 50 candidates are eligible for a scholarship upon admission, and continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will require maintaining a high score during the following years of study.

Empowering women studying abroad

In accordance with the order of the President of the Academy, aimed at accelerating the systemic support of students, an excellent initiative to promote women's education has been introduced. Every year, 10 IAPM female students receive sponsorship to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees abroad.

Quota for PhD programmes

Recognising the importance of women's representation in cutting-edge research and academia, a significant annual quota of 10 places for postgraduate studies is allocated to women, with 50% to 100% of the places allocated to women. This move is aimed at increasing the opportunities for women to contribute to the country's knowledge and expertise in various fields.

Education loans for women

Financial difficulties should not prevent women from pursuing education at any level. To overcome this obstacle, interest-free educational loans will be offered to female students for higher education. During their studies, female students have 3 to 6 years to repay this loan. Through such initiatives, the Academy aims to empower women through education, support gender equality and contribute to a skilled and diverse workforce that will positively impact Ukraine's development.

MENTORING

IAPM has a mentoring programme that helps freshmen adapt and strengthens their sense of belonging and pride in being a member of the campus. Students are paired up with senior students as mentors and freshmen as mentees.

A programme that helps international students studying at IAPM to adapt to Ukrainian culture and the campus. Undergraduate students participate in the programme by sharing advice and participating in cultural exchanges.

• Eligibility: Undergraduate students (excluding students enrolled in credit courses).

• Application period: Follow the announcements on the homepage. (1st semester) During November, January (2nd semester), May, and July Institute of International Education. Contact: [email protected] /[email protected]

A mentoring programme that assists international students by assigning a mentor from the same undergraduate study programme. International students receive mentoring related to their specialities, humanities, Ukrainian language and campus life. The programme is organised by each structural unit of IAPM with international students. Both mentors and mentees should apply to their dean's office and the methodologist of their speciality at the beginning of each semester.

MENTORSTEM PROGREMME

The Academy actively promotes gender equality in the educational process and creates equal opportunities for all students regardless of gender. The institution offers a wide range of programmes, covering the areas of management, economics, law, information technology and others, focusing on the most sought-after specialities.

IAPM also focuses on supporting female students, encouraging them to enrol in management and engineering and technical specialities, where women are traditionally less represented. MentorSTEM hosts regular webinars, trainings and workshops to discuss important aspects of successful learning and professional development in STEM fields. Participants have the opportunity to take part in special workshops such as leadership, project management, effective communication, and conflict resolution.

The MentorSTEM programme provides an opportunity to choose a personal mentor from among leading teachers - professionals in the chosen field - who will help develop the necessary skills, prepare for competitive exams, and understand the requirements of the speciality.

In addition, within the framework of MentorSTEM, special attention is paid to students in grades 10-11, for whom career guidance testing is conducted annually in modern computer classes at IAPM. This helps students to identify their aptitudes and choose the appropriate field of study in the future.

IAPM also actively works with students' parents to ensure their confidence in the safety of their children during their studies. The security measures implemented on the territory of the institution and the policies that guarantee protection in accordance with standards and regulations are constantly being strengthened. Security guards work on the territory and in the premises around the clock. In addition, the institution is equipped with a modern security system that includes surveillance cameras.

Within the framework of the IAPM Cybersecurity Lab, there is a women's group called ‘Cyberspace Leaders’, which was created to support and develop the professional skills of female students in this field.

‘Cyberspace Leaders conducts trainings and workshops where participants learn the latest cybersecurity methods, get acquainted with ethical hacking techniques to identify and prevent threats, and develop data protection strategies in various industries. The members of the group actively participate in various competitions, where they demonstrate a high level of professional skills.
