Upgrade buildings to higher energy efficiency

The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management integrates the upgrading of existing buildings to higher energy efficiency into its comprehensive Sustainable Development Policy on accessible and clean energy.

In accordance with this Policy the key directions to Upgrade buildings are:

  • Energy Audits. Regular energy audits are carried out to identify energy inefficiencies and implement improvement measures.
  • Building Retrofitting. Upgrades are planned for existing buildings to integrate energy-efficient systems such as lighting, HVAC, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Sustainable Construction. All new buildings and renovations follow green building standards, using energy-efficient materials and technologies.
  • Renewable Energy Integration. Emphasis is placed on expanding the use of solar energy and other renewable sources across the campus.

Upgrade all existing buildings of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management is carried out to achieve higher energy efficiency according to government guidelines:

Plans to upgrade existing buildings of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management to higher energy efficiency include:

  • reducing energy consumption
  • сarbon emission reduction
  • maximizing water reuse
  • implementation of energy audits for all buildings. IAPM has been implemented
  • The Action and Investment Plan. This planwill provide the opportunity to conduct energy modernization of all buildings on the different campuses of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in order to reduce heating needs, optimize the usage of heating and ventilation equipment. These measures include building insulation (wall insulation, roof insulation and replacement of openings)
  • energy-efficient and sustainable construction for new buildings, which includes installing improved efficiency heating systems; using carbon-free electricity; using renewable energy sources and obtaining energy performance certificates for each of the new buildings

The use of efficient and highly efficient energy equipment for heating, lighting and hot water production is prioritized in order to reduce the use of electrical energy. For this purpose, solar panels have been installed on the roofs of the Academy buildings. During 3 years, the number and area of solar panels installed at the Academy has been increasing every month. As a result, the volume of “green” electrical energy generated at the Academy has increased, thus reducing the amount of electricity consumption from the network.

The reconstructions has been ongoing to improve the energy efficiency of the Academy's buildings. Thus, from 2022, 2 existing buildings have been reconstructed every year. The reconstruction of existing buildings involves:

  • reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions
  • increasing roof insulation
  • insulating ventilation ducts
  • replacing lighting with energy-saving lamps
  • installing thermostatic valves
  • installing solar panels for electricity generation
  • replacing external joinery with more energy-efficient metal-plastic ones

During the period 2022 - 2024,the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management built 3 new buildings and upgraded 6 existing buildings in accordance with all the above-mentioned energy efficiency standards.

All these Academy buildings received state energy efficiency certificates.
