According to Article 36 of the Constitution of Ukraine, citizens (men, women, others) and foreigners legally staying on the territory of Ukraine shall have the right to participate in trade unions in order to protect their labour and socio-economic rights and interests. Trade unions shall be public organisations uniting citizens bound by common interests in accordance with the nature of their professional activity. Trade unions shall be formed without prior permission based on the free choice of their members. All trade unions shall have equal rights. Restrictions on membership in trade unions shall be determined exclusively by this Constitution and the laws of Ukraine.
The trade union of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management was established in early 2005.
According to the Charter of the Trade Union of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management:
Clause 3.1. Members of the trade union may be citizens of Ukraine (including women), international staff, and stateless persons working at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.
Clause 3.4. Membership in the trade union shall be retained by women (men) who temporarily do not work due to caring for a child until he/she reaches school age, a disabled person, or an elderly person.
Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Social Dialogue in Ukraine’ guarantees freedom of association and collective bargaining for all employees, including women, men, and other international staff.
